Arinthum Ariyamalum - Aanandam!

And once in a while, along comes a Tamil movie like a whiff of fresh air...

The plot twists and turns unexpectedly, the comedy scenes, for a change, not loud and crass, the music delightful and for once, the bad guys are left alone and not killed or arrested in unbelievable circumstances, just to fit into the good-guy-always-wins formula!

The so called bad guys, Prakash Raj and Arya, walk away with all the attention, they change expressions, gestures and even their intonation and dialogue delivery styles based on the mood. Arya especially is realistic as the bad man's hot tempered son, lost when suddenly introduced to his chocolate-faced younger brother, Navneet.

The background music is pleasing and catchy, especially the scenes with Navneet and Samiksha and the funny encounters of Prakash Raj and Arya with Navneet. Yuvan Shankar Raja kalakirkaan! The scene where the father-son duo watch Navneet sleep cracked me up! Krishna (of five-star-fame) as Navneet's friend terrified of the don-duo is funny! A fresh, lively and enjoyable movie by Vishnuvardhan.

So, as the sun TV guy in lion dates top ten says, "Arinthum Ariyamalam - Aanandam!" :)

Everything (except the heroine) about the movie good. I liked Yuvan's songs. Dunno why they have so many northie singers....they pronounce Konjam as Konjum.

Why is everybody watching the SUN TV Top 10 show when we very well know that it is all crap. They boycotted Mumbai Express and Sachin reviews just bcoz they didn't manage to get the rights for the movie.

To Kaps: umm, our satellite carrier in this area doesnt offer many choices for tamil channels, so, sun tv it was - also really not keeping track of what movies are accurately shown in the countdown, just some 1/2 an hour weekly tamil dose!

To prabhu: enaku pidichudu... different movie, terila pathu sollu unaku pidichudaanu :)

Eventhough the movie had an excerpt from Dil To Pagal Hai!!, on the whole it was good.

The best scene as I saw it, happens in a signal where the hero is sitting behind the actress in a scooty!! Arya was unbeleivably cool in that scene!!

You write Movie review kinda stuff too or what?

Adios!!

I have written about movie-related stuff a couple of times, my favourite love scenes, my favourite song minnale, about the movie black... a few I can remember, buried somewhere in my archives.

Well what can I say? "Arinthum Ariyamalam - Aanandam!" :( While movie preferences are inherently subjective, your comment really threw me off! I didn't see anything positive or worthwhile in the movie except for the music in some parts.

"Arinthum Ariyamalam - Araikurai!"

I also get only SUN TV...but I'm allergic to Suresh Kumar and the Top 10 show. Hence it is a strict no no for me.
